The Weeknd sunglasses, Abel Tesfaye and George Cortina
We were very much looking forward to receiving at L’Atelier Óptica the latest models of sunglasses of one of the brands that not only we like, but also our clients do: Jacques Marie Mage.
In their new collection there is a model that caught our attention: the one worn by the singer Abel Tesfaye, better known by his stage name The Weeknd, in the photo of this article which is part of a photographic report published in GQ magazine.
It’s a limited edition of only 300 pieces handmade in Japan following the design of Jacques Marie Mage and fashion editor George Cortina, inspired by the classic aviator glasses. The craftsmanship has been carefully respected and the result is a sophisticated blend of elegance and attitude. With a design that exudes glamor and prestige, it features 18k gold details, gradient lenses and adjustable nose pads.
We already told you about Jacques Marie Mage in a post before (LINK https://www.latelieroptica.es/en/art-design/jacques-marie-mage-sustainable-and-ethical-luxury-brand/). We can tell you about George Cortina that he’s an editor, stylist, creative director… and that his entire life he has been cultivating his great passion, fashion. He is a regular contributor to GQ magazine, but her editorials have also been featured in WSJ, Interview, W magazine and several international editions of Vogue.
Many brands such as Bvlgari, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Roberto Cavalli, Estee Lauder, Giorgi Armani… and personalities like Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett or Jodie Foster have trusted George Cortina’s work. With this collaboration he is combining his creativity with Jacques Marie Mage’s to create glasses that immediately became iconic.
L’Atelier Óptica is one of the very few points of sale where you can find some of these exclusive pieces.
