L’Atelier Óptica at Madrid Design Festival 2026: Mila’s Garden

Madrid Design Festival turns the city into a living design route: pop-ups and ephemeral interventions in real spaces—shops, studios, workshops, galleries—that transform for a few weeks to tell a story. In this format, a storefront stops being just a storefront: it becomes a cultural intervention. That’s why each edition comes with a concept and a context that supports every aesthetic decision.
As every year, L’Atelier Óptica is part of Madrid Design Festival and becomes one of those stops again. Not as a one-off gesture, but as a natural continuation: we return edition after edition because we share the same idea of design, one that doesn’t stay on the surface, but is lived in everyday life. For us, seeing well is also a design decision. And choosing slowly is part of the process: LESS NOISE, MORE CRITERIA.

“Mila’s Garden”: the 2026 pop-up

From February 1 to March 15, 2026, L’Atelier Óptica’s window transforms into “Mila’s Garden,” a paper installation designed by Mila García (Similarte Studio).
The scene unfolds into a delicate, meticulous botanical universe: leaves, stems, and flowers that open up as if they were growing inside the display. Green leads the eye through layers, while white and orange tones bring light to the composition.
A gardener tends to the landscape with calm, and a small bird rests on her hand, one subtle gesture that invites you to pause, observe, and let imagination complete the story.

A garden as a metaphor for what’s well made

A garden isn’t “assembled”: it’s cultivated. And that’s also how we understand optics.
At L’Atelier, we’re interested in bringing you pieces with intention: frames that don’t seek attention through excess, but through decision. We work with author eyewear and limited-distribution editions, selected for their design, their construction, and the coherence they hold when you wear them.
Among the botanical forms, L’Atelier’s designs appear as part of the narrative: pieces that speak to craft, detail, and the time that well-made things require. Because here, aesthetics aren’t the goal, they’re the result of a process. And when something is chosen well, you can tell.
